Wizard of OZ - Lesson 1 Analysing characters
A complete scheme of work, presentations and resources for the book ’ The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’ by L Baum. Aimed at year 6/7 but easily adaptable. Differentiated at least 3 ways.
Each lesson is also available separately and includes a presentation and all resources. The original text is in the public domain and available online.
Lessons are based on the understanding of the text and its themes, as well as narrative, non-fiction and descriptive writing skills. Touches on, and links well to American History at turn of the 20th century.
This scheme was incredibly engaging and produced brilliant pieces of writing.
