Using the classic game of Battleships, children have to try and find all of their opponents words.

Great for practising nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs etc.

I have used this game with Years 2 - Year 5, all have found it very entertaining and has supported their SPaG work greatly.

Can be used to focus on particular word classes or a mixture. I have used it for focusing on dictonary and thesaurus work, such as finding all words that begin with M or synonyms for run.

Players write their words on the left hand side of the page, first in the words section then place them on the grid either vertically or horizontally. The right hand side grid is for working out your opponents words. If a shot missed put a cross in the whole box. If shot hits, write the letter in.

Discover all of your opponents works and you win the game.
