For GCSE/IGCSE First Language English Reading and Directed Writing, a comprehension is given for the candidate/student to read and respond to according to the assessment objectives. The candidate/student must demonstrate their reading and writing skills through conventions.
Conventions, here, mean that the candidate must respond to the question according to the instructions. In the instructions, candidates will be asked to present their responses using any one of the following conventions or genres:
