This smartboard links looks at evacuation in WW2. The lesson uses Carrie's War video to look at what evacuation was before the bulk of the lesson being focused on evacuees. The children work together to explore the feelings and thoughts of the evacuees when they are on the platform. The main task allows children to collect ideas using adjectives, similes, metaphors etc.
Tasks are differentiated and there is a whole lesson with introduction, main task and plenary.
