An 18-slide PowerPoint presentation which starts with a Do Now activity and then talks through how to make links between German words and English words, including cognates, logic, and visual clues. It ends with a match-up activity (plus worksheet) for classroom speaking, e.g. “Ich habe mein Heft vergessen” etc.

Also included is the worksheet itself for printing. Note that on the worksheet and the PowerPoint, you may need to change “R1” to your school’s reward system term.

As well as that, there is a German Quiz PowerPoint included for an introduction to German and Germany.

This is lesson 2 of many available for Year 7 (Y7) or first year German. Bundles available!

Everything (plus KS3 and KS4 German Knowledge Organisers and GCSE exam skill help sheets) is available from my shop.
