This is an introductory lesson on 3D shapes – cone, cylinder, cube, cuboid and sphere. It teaches the key mathematical vocabulary and naming and identifying 3D shapes based upon their properties. It is a hands-on, well-differentiated session, catering to different abilities within the classroom. The resources include a lesson plan, PowerPoints for the teaching input, as well as the activity worksheets including a challenge task. The main PowerPoint also includes links to external educational videos, including a 3D shape song. This lesson was used in an observation and received excellent feedback!
