Year 2 Autumn Week 2 Numeracy lessons - Place Value and Ordering

This week provides full power point presentations helping students to understand place value and ordering. The lessons contain a 10 minute mental warm up, and then a whole class teaching session. The lessons finish with helpful suggestions about main lesson lesson activities students could try.

Learning Objective:  how to recognise numbers
 where numbers are on a number line
 to understand the words used with estimation
 how to round more accurately.

Lesson 4: Week 2
Title Place Value, Ordering and Addition
Learning Objective:  to recognise tens and ones
 how to combine a tens number and a one-digit number to make a two-digit number
 how to write a number sentence
 to combine a hundreds, tens and one-digit number.

Lesson 5: Week 2

Learning Objective:  recognise the relationship between digits in a two-digit number
 combine numbers to make a two-digit number.
