This low-resource, cross-curricular science and maths lesson focuses on the Year 5 National Curriculum Science objective on the effects of air resistance and gives children practice in writing conclusions using the evidence they have gathered.

The practical lesson only requires resources that will already be in your classroom or are very easily sourced - small toys, newspaper, tape, rulers and string.

The resources include sentence stems to support less confident learners structuring their conclusions.

Due to the lesson needing very few resources, it could also be sent home to families who are self-isolating.

The resources are fully editable and there is lots of scope to easily tweak the content to focus on a range of different Working Scientifically objectives.

This is the third in a set of six lessons covering the Year 5 Forces topic (the whole unit can also be downloaded as a bundle from my shop for a much-reduced rate).

A bundle is a package of resources grouped together to teach a particular topic, or a series of lessons, in one place.
