Year 5 Maths: Reasoning with Add/Sub

This example pack contains a comprehensive selection of Mathematical Reasoning Questions based around Addition and Subtraction. They provide children with the opportunity to develop reasoning skills whilst practicing fundamental methods. Each question comes with Teacher Guidance notes so as to maintain consistency when marking reasoning style questions.
There are examples of all three levels: Below Age-Related Expectation, Age-Related Expectation and Greater Depth/Mastery. Other areas of the maths curriculum will become available shortly, as well as examples for other year groups - keep a look out!

Use them as one-off assessment opportunities or as part of a lesson or as a distance-from-learning task. However you choose to use them, they will provide much needed information on how well children in your cohort are progressing in aspects of Mathematical Reasoning.
