This is a Year 6 PSHE and Citizenship lesson about relationships, which focuses on friendship and how to handle the challenges and problems that can exist within a peer group. Children can discuss what friendship means to them, before exploring some common friendship challenges and appropriate strategies for solving them. An independent or group task is also provided to reinforce the learning from the lesson.
The lesson is aimed at Year 6 but could also be used across upper Key Stage 2. It is fully resourced with planning and relevant supporting materials.
The timing of the lesson is approximately 45 – 60 minutes, but, depending on your PSHE timetabling, it can also be easily split into a pair of thirty-minute sessions.
