Yr 7 MASTERY STYLE Addition and Perimeter

A week of lessons about adding whole numbers, decimals and applying to perimeter.
Also contains some problems about money.

Lesson 1: Column Addition
Lesson 2: Perimeter
Lesson 3: Adding Decimals including Perimeters
Lesson 4: Murder Mystery Activity applying previous 3 objectives.

Problem-based learning format; begins with a problem for class discussion and investigation, then guidance on how to journal the solution.
A collaborative class task for students to develop deeper understanding before independent task and Plenary.
Final slide is an exit ticket to show objective has been met.
Outstanding challenge for low ability year 7; tough enough to challenge higher abilities or year groups!
