A knowledge organiser for Shakespeare’s tragedy, 'Romeo and Juliet’ Contains key quotations listed by character, key themes and symbols, Contextual information (Elizabeth I, patriarchy, astrology and religion), Shakespeare’s ideas/intentions and some key subject terminology for language/structure/form. Could be laminated and left on tables or printed and glued into books.

I produced these resources to use as part of an 'enable table' during a lesson about poverty for Dickens' A Christmas Carol. There are four information sheets (education, sanitation, workhouses and employment) with accompanying images. I printed and laminated them on 4 different coloured papers and left on the enable table for More Able pupils to use as a way of meeting AO3 for the new Lit GCSE. Would work well when used as an 'investigate'/carousel lesson, or alternatively on classroom displays.

Two model paragraphs for the L+R poetry cluster One paragraph deals with obsession in 'Porphyria's Lover' and 'Sonnet 29'. The other deals with family relationships in 'Walking Away' and 'Mother, Any Distance' First paragraph of comparison for 'Climbing my Grandfather ' started- pupils could complete this is same style as two previous paragraphs.

Can be printed and laminated for tables, or glued into books.

A knowledge organiser for Golding’s Lord of the Flies. Contains key quotations for each character and the island itself, key themes, contextual information (WW2, Cold War, Original sin, Freud) and Golding’s ideas/intentions. Boxes with key language and structure devices also included.

In line with new English GCSE AOs focused on subject terminology, I have created a wall display for classrooms. All key grammatical and linguistic terms are dealt with. Can be printed and laminated to go around room borders, or stuck on one board to form a terminology wall.

Two differentiated documents for Romeo and Juliet. High ability document contains four key scenes and exam questions and room for planning. Lower ability contains same key scenes with modern translation and close reading questions based around the extracts. Both documents were originally used for homework, but can very easily be used for revision purposes in lessons without needing adapting. PowerPoint I created for a KS3 literacy intervention day. Covers simple, compound and complex sentences in order. Plenty of opportunity for explicit teaching of sentence types using formulas, images and cut and stick opportunities.

Literacy SOW for low ability KS3 students. A range of LOs covered: sentence construction (simple, compound, complex), basic clause patterns, extended noun phrases, prepositions, adverbials and conjunctions.
