This is a great bundle of comprehension activities for children who are not able to write legibly, but are able to read. In order to assess reading and comprehension skills we need to check their understanding. These activities are brilliant for doing just that. The activities encourage children read the story / instructions and then find the sentences/pictures to stick in the correct places to show the answers. Other sheets encourage looking at pictures or reading information to find clues and children can make a mark on the answers they believe to be correct. This is a great game which not only requires children to take turns and learn in a fun way, it encourages higher order thinking. Learners have to listen to the questions read out to them and try to solve the problem by finding the fraction. However, in many cases the fraction needed is the lowest possible equivalent fraction. The first person to cover their game board with coloured counters is the winner.

These posters enhance a KS2 literacy display, giving learners a visual prompt of words to use for co-ordinating conjunctions, which should be added to join words, phrases and clauses. This is a great activity to do with learners on their return from the summer holidays, when starting in a new class. It is also a great speaking and listening activity. Print out on card or laminate them, cut them out and let the children ask away in their groups or pairs. All the questions are the types that children can relate to, allowing them to find out about each other.

This is a fantastic interactive display which has been designed for use in Year 2 or Year 3, but it could be used in other groups where a range of vocabulary is not widely used in writing. The idea of this display activity is to be used on a board at child height, allowing them to select a word from the relevant treasure box during their writing, taking it to their desk to support spelling.
