These two A3 sized revision sheets have questions which all link to the specification. This is to help students revise and have the knowledge for this part of the specification.

These are set out one A4 page on the PDF. I print them four pages per sheet and double sided, so the ‘draw the symbol for…’ is on one side and the picture of the symbol is on the other. Students can use them to test if they can draw the symbol, or use them the other way up and see if they can remember the name of the symbol.

Two pages of the key information students need to know about the inheritance topic. I have highlighted the triple and higher only content. I have also included a small amount fo information on cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anaemia and Huntington’s disease, as the specification is vague about particular inherited disease that need to be known and these have commonly be used at GCSE in the past. This could be used as a lesson and then lead on to a task linked to a Roald Dahl book or maybe inventing their own Roald Dahl character. Or it could be used as an assembly to teach pupils a bit about Roald Dahl and his amazing life, leading into some quizzing at the end to help engage pupils.

Four A4 pages of quick questions and answers about the AQA GCSE Physics Paper 1 Electricity topic, to help pupils revise independently, or with someone asking them the questions. All of the answers are underneath each question.

This powerpoint involves pupils thinking about what they would need if they were to find another planet for humans to survive on. It takes pupils through a series of demonstrations (videos links available if you don’t have the equipment) and practicals that they are able to do to get them thinking about what they would need for finding and surviving on a different planet. The slides have some pictures and minimum words on. The majority of the work in the notes section of the slides, which goes through what you can discuss with the pupils and any video links you can show them linked to this. This is adaptable, to use as a ‘science show’/assembly or as a series of lessons. With the practical side, it would take more than one lesson. I have used this style for a few demonstrations for later primary school years and also early high school years and they have all really enjoyed the mix of demos and practicals that they can take part int.

This powerpoint has a list of most of the common compounds pupils need to know for GCSE AQA Chemistry. It contains a few animated tasks, involving naming the compounds when given the formulas, writing the formulas when given the compound name, stating whether the compound is made up from covalent or ionic bonds and then drawing the dot and cross diagrams for the common compounds. This is good for revision, or for using the dot and cross diagrams when teaching covalent or ionic bonding.
