This set of lesson plans, resources, and activities is for use with Amelia Bedelia, Chrysanthemum, Ira Sleeps Over, and Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink. These resources can be used for whole group, small group, and independent instruction – which makes these them a smart choice for literacy centers or Reader’s Workshop. Each lesson plan follows the format of a mini lesson and provides an opportunity for students to turn and talk about how they make connections while reading. Students will also have the opportunity to practice the strategy with a page by page guided “worksheet” and write about their reading with a common core aligned Reader’s notebook prompt.
