The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. Each of the three individual resources includes posters or task cards that timeline the key events and periods from the civilizations.
The research and sorting activities are differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline.

A great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events, legends and famous figures of Ancient Nubia, which included the Kingdom of Kush.
There are 31 posters or task cards that include many of the key events including the first settlements along the River Nile; the rise of each civilization, including Kerma and Kush; Piye conquering Egypt; and the spread of Christianity in the region.
The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Nubia. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
