LKS2 History - Most Influential U.S. President Discussion Based Writing Activity

This is a discussion based writing unit about who has been the most influential U.S. president of all time. Perfect for Presidents Day! The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4. The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt, and writing these onto the included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual presidents. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on a neat copy using the template provided. NO PREP is needed! UKS2 American Civil War Most Influential General - Discussion Based Text Writing Activity

This is a discussion based writing unit about who was the most influential general of the American Civil War. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Perfect for Year 5 or Year 6. The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about Ulysses Grant, George Meade, Robert Lee and Stonewall Jackson, and writing these onto the included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual generals. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on a neat copy using the template provided. NO PREP is needed! This resource is a LKS2 discussion-based text writing unit discussing who is the greatest ever American president. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 learning about U.S. History. The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt and George Washington, and typing these on to an included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual presidents. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before typing up their work using the template provided. NO PREP is needed!
