This is the lesson PowerPoint for a Resin Casting lesson in to silicone moulds the students have made in a previous lesson. This lesson fits in to the new AQA materials technical award that I am currently running with a year 9 group. Its a very messy lesson but students loved it. AQA Fashion and Textiles Unit 1 Joining Fabrics Learning Mats, Covering, plain seams, french seams, flat felled seams and over locked seams. I used these mats to lace on the tables when ting a seam sampling workshop. Student then added the seam samples to their skill evidence page, and used the information on the learning mats to add notes to their samples.

In preparation for the new materials technology award I've created a skill evidence guide to enable students to understand what evidence they need to include for each skill in unit one. The evidence guide also includes a skill tracker across the four projects. This is an updated version with the changes to the specification.
