Seeking permission (consent) & unsafe touch PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the contents of the lesson are suitable for students across KS2.
In this lesson, the students will be introduced to the concept of asking others for permission. This lesson serves as a gentle introduction to consent in the context of physical contact with others e.g. offering a hug to a friend. Students will investigate what these terms mean, how stereotyping can be harmful and why humanity developed the ability to make quick generalisations about groups. Students will investigate the case of Ethel, an old lady who loves her teenage grandchildren, yet can’t help stereotyping teenagers as a potential danger to her when she passes them on the streets. Students will explore why this is, how the mind works and how stereotypes evolved originally to help us avoid threats, but can be detrimental when applied to societal groups in the modern world. Best suited to KS3.

E-Safety - making safe, reliable choices online KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss the positive and negative ways that people can use the internet and reflect on the reliability of the information online. We will discuss the importance of double-checking information and looking carefully at our search results when browsing. The students will also be told how to spot adverts in search engine results and on shopping platforms.
The lesson includes an information sheet, a card sort/discussion task, a video clip activity, a secret message activity with a set of 20 task cards, and a plenary task.
Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

Privacy and boundaries KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will explore the concept of personal boundaries, both online and in real life. We will discuss oversharing and the things that we should keep to ourselves, whilst also reflecting on the importance of protecting our privacy online. The students will analyse a series of case studies, identify personal boundaries and discuss whether they have been broken. The lesson includes an information sheet, a card sort/discussion task, a video clip activity, a set of case studies, and a debate plenary.

Age ratings and age-appropriate content KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will explore age restrictions relating to film, videogames and social media and the laws that underpin them. We will look at the reasons why we have age restrictions and discuss how viewing inappropriate content can be harmful.
The students will apply their knowledge to a set of case files and reflect on whether the examples would be suitable for their age group.
