Strengths and interests KS1 PSHE lesson.
A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 1, however, the activities are also suitable for use in Year 2, or even younger students in KS2 (Year 3).
In this lesson, the children will learn about personal strengths, interests, and the importance of celebrating the things that make us all unique.
The lesson includes a copy of Trilby Gizard, You’re a Terrible Lizard, a story of a young lizard’s journey to explore his individuality.
The students will reflect on a set of teacher led comprehension questions, before completing activities linked to the text.
The lesson includes a case study starter, a story with accompanying questions, a Venn diagram sorting tasks, a self-reflection activity, and a plenary task.
Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

Easy to use reading comprehension pack with three sections of differentiated questions each all focused on the issue of stalking and harassment. The article investigates whether this is really just a celebrity issue and examines recent cases that have affected normal people (non-celebrities), sometimes fatally.
It can be used in form time as part of literacy/ PSHE focus, or in English lessons for KS3/4 or GCSE comprehension training.
Both PDF and editable word file included.
A KS4 PSHCE lesson which serves as both an introduction to the concept of disability discrimination in UK law and in depth examination of the 2010 Equality Act. The lesson, created by MACS Charity with EC Resources, allows students to investigate the benefits to society of the 2010 Equality Act by studying cases of discrimination in schools, workplaces and the wider world.
These resources also serve to highlight how MACS charity (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support) helps children with visual impairments and prepares them for life as independent and disabled UK citizens.
The lesson lasts around 2 hours and includes differentiated activities, case study investigations, literacy focus and debate tasks, clip tasks and group activities as well as guidance to show how the lesson meets sections of the new PSHE draft curriculum from the DfE for 2020 and the statutory Citizenship curriculum for KS4.

One year’s teaching unit overview for year 7 and 8 PSHCE and RE. This plan is for teachers who have an hour a week at Key Stage 3 to fit in the subjects of PSHE, Citizenship and RE, but could easily be amended. The plan includes a rationale which explains the unit plan and references plans to improve literacy through PSHCE and RE using new literacy template for student assessment (also included), an action plan and a funding proposal template.

Two assemblies which focus on the work done by the MACS charity (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support). MACS is a charity for young people who were born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes, so the assemblies focus on the importance of valuing our vision and how we should treat everyone with respect and without prejudice.
The assemblies focus on the work MACS do to help and support young people. One of the assemblies is to raise awareness of the work MACS does and the other is for schools interested in fundraising for the charity. These are especially useful for schools teaching topics on prejudice and discrimination and also schools with a child who uses MACS' services.

A double Tutor Time session (50 mins) all about whether the UK should have a second referendum - this time on the final Brexit options: taking whatever the negotiated deal is, possibly leaving with no deal, or remaining in the EU. The session investigates the reasons for and against a second referendum and who supports either side,
before inviting the students to form their own conclusions through a class debate.
The resource is editable, has differentiated tasks, a clip with questions, info sheet, and is designed to last around 50 minutes.
