A detailed and well differentiated, editable history skills lesson with a focus on the importance of using evidence. This hour long lesson (with PowerPoint, clips and worksheets) could be used with any KS3 group to illustrate the importance of source work as historians (and those working in archeology) in order to gain a detailed picture of the past. The lesson focuses on the story of the Pompeii and the evidence left behind that historians have pieced together to create an accurate view of the disaster.
Students will use evidence to create a detailed profile of the last days of Pompeii and explore the site left behind and the clues left for historians to decipher.
Perfect introduction to the British Empire - focusing on both the positives and the negatives, as well as what it was and how it changed over time. This lesson allows students to explore the subject and background in detail, complete exam style questions, complete partnered tasks, clip tasks, case study tasks, debate tasks and more.

A fun Year 7 History lesson which can be used either on a transition day or in the first week at secondary school as an introduction to history.
The lesson focuses on familiarising students with the key skills they will be using throughout history lessons in KS3- source analysis, source comparison, chronology and literacy through history (spag and essay skills). It includes engaging teamwork tasks, fact-finding activities and lots of introduction to new key terms.
Israel - Palestine Conflict - this lessons covers the origins of the troubles in the Middle East.
This is an hour long, fully resourced lesson with Powerpoint, differentiated tasks throughout, worksheets, clip link and accompanying task all about the history and origins of the Palestinian conflict. There is a debate focus on who is to blame and who does the land rightfully belong to, with a 20 min assessment task at the end complete with all materials to mark and feedback.

A differentiated and editable history lesson all about The Stolen Generations, what it was like for native Australians at the time of British rule and whether or not an apology from a later Prime Minister is really ever going to be enough to make up for the travesties forced onto the Aboriginal people.
