I am an English Teacher at an SEMH secondary school. My resources cover a wide range of key stages and abilities to cater for the complex needs of my students. Often my resources will be designed to appeal to older students with a lower ability content, but they still work well for younger students also. I have a big interest in Phonics, low ability resources with a high interest level for older students, creating useful displays and making stickers to aid in my marking.

I am the qualified Access Arrangements Assessor for my school, additionally, I have responsibility for applying for any access arrangements, creating the folder of evidence to support the application, and speaking with the JCQ Inspector during their annual visit. I always receive compliments from the JCQ inspectors on my record keeping, so I thought this would be a useful resource to share with others. This resource breaks down how I put my evidence folder together to support my access arrangements applications. This resource is current from Autumn Term 2018; the applications I put in this term are for my current Year 10s who will be leaving in 2020, and any new starters to Year 11 since lasy year’s applications. This resource includes the following documents: Suggested Access Arrangements Folder List: a list of everything I include in my folder, icluding an explanation of how I put it together and any tips from my experience. Access Arrangements Cover Sheet Template: for the front of your folder. Data Protection Notice: this is available for free from the JCQ website, but I have included the most up to date one here for your convenience. Form 8 Template: this is available for free from the JCQ website, but I have included the most up to date one here for your convenience. Teacher Records Template: to demonstrate normal way of working within your centre. Teacher Records Template Guidance Sheet Teacher Records Worked Example: for your reference Access Arrangements Staff Training: to help support your request for teaching staff to provide reports supporting your application, and to help staff understand access arrangements as a whole. Staff Training Record Sheet Template: which you can use as evidence for JCQ, to show training on Access Arrangements has taken place. I hope you find this useful.

There is standard question sheet and a differentiated version with sentence starters. This item comes with an extension task to make it into a full lesson. Ideal for a cover lesson. Halloween Internet Treasure Hunt Differentiated End of Term Cover Lesson suitable SEN Special Needs

I created this resource for students at my SEMH secondary school who have a varying range of abilities. This is a perfect resource for an end of half term, or a cover lesson. It is highly engaging and my students always enjoy these tasks. Whilst made with SEN students in mind, it would be suitable for mainstream primary and secondary age students. I have made three levels of challenge from low primary school levels with cloze passages, and sentence starters, up to a more challenging “treasure hunt” aimed at KS3 students working at age appropriate levels. There should be something there for everyone! I have also included teacher answer sheets for easy marking. I hope your students enjoy this as much as my students do.
