With Lady Macbeth being the focus for the AQA May 2024 exam, here are a range of resources exploring Lady Macbeth’s character in detail. Includes timeline, poster, model answers, lessons and worksheets.
An Inspector Calls 5 revision sheets
3 A3 revision sheets, 1 A4 revision sheet and a set of revision cards.
Sheet 1 has carefully selected key quotations for all 6 characters and carefully selected points about context for A03.
Sheet 2 has quotations for 5 themes and exam questions based on each theme.
Sheet 3 is a summary and brief explanation of 10 key quotations for each character.

Power and Conflict: 11 comparative writing frames for AQA poetry
4 differentiated writing frames to 4 actual AQA power and conflict past exam questions. Each writing frame has 3 tiers of difficulty to allow for the fact different students in the class require different levels of support and guidance in the run up to the examinations.
Tier 1: Students add the analysis of the quotations. The topic sentences and recommended quotations are already filled in for them.
Tier 2: Students must pick their own 3 quotations from each poem and analyse the quotations.
Tier 3: Students must pick their own topic sentences, quotations and then analsyse the quotations.
The questions covered are as follows:
2021 question: Compare how poets present ideas about power and control in ‘London’ and in one other poem from ‘Power and conflict’. (30)
Nov 2020 question: Compare how poets present the ways people are affected by difficult experiences in ‘Remains’ and in one other poem from ‘Power and conflict’. (30)

An Inspector Calls Character Revision
Use the A3 sheet to revise inferences for 10 quotations per character then compare against the answer sheet. The animations on the PowerPoint reveal each answer one by one so you can go through them in turn.
Activity is differentiated to encourage higher-level students to push for more advanced inferences and to identify and comment on language features and Priestley’s wider purpose.

EdExcel Conflict Poetry Revision Booklet
A 42 page revision booklet for the Edexcel conflict poetry anthology. Contains a page on each poem packed with analysis of the key quotations. Also contains knowledge organisers on main ideas, structure and context and various high level model responses to a range of questions.
Eduqas Poetry Revision Booklet
A 23 page booklet containing detailed analysis and annotations for all 18 poems alongside knowledge organisers covering the main ideas, context and structure in each poem.
Macbeth Full Play Annotated
104 PowerPoint slides containing annotations for the whole play - Macbeth. A great resource to accompany a reading of the play or to help students address gaps in their learning through absence. I originally created this resource to help some students who missed a large proportion of the curriculum due to absence.
Annotations are click activated so the teacher can talk through them one by one.
There are over 300 annotations covering every scene of the play. Obviously, I have prioritised the key moments from the key scenes for the most detailed annotations. The PowerPoint is fully editable so you can add extra annotations so you add, remove or change the amount of annotations to suit the ability of your students.
I have included a revision task sheet that encourages students to go through the PowerPoint and explain what is happening in each scene, explore the language in the key quotations and evaluate the thematic significance of the scene.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL TOP 20, 50 and TOP 100 Quotations
My students voted this as their most useful revision resource for A Christmas Carol.
First ask students to annotate the top 50 quotations in the text and then give out the answer sheet to check their responses.
For weaker students, there is a matching version where students match the 50 quotations to 50 brief explanations.
Also contains more advanced notes on my top 20 quotations linked to A01, A02 and A03.
For students wanting a comprehensive knowledge of the text there is also a 100 quotation version with meanings, methods and message briefly explained for all 100 quotations.
Lord of the Flies Revision - 34 quotations annotated in detail (Jack, Ralph, Piggy, Simon, Roger)
This PowerPoint contains detailed annotations of 34 key quotations to the novel.

Comparing Bayonet Charge and Charge of the light brigade (lesson, writing frame, questions)
PowerPoints on both poems containing questions and activities followed by a writing frame for answering an AQA style exam question which is structured in the following way:
P1. Compare how both poems present the horror of conflict in war.
P2. Compare how both poems present the bravery of soldiers.
P3. Compare how the structure helps show the conflict.
Includes the two poems on one page for ease of printing and to encourage independent analysis before giving students the option of the writing frame.
ROMEO AND JULIET REVISION SHEET QUOTATIONS
This A3 revision sheet revises key quotations for 6 key characters and 4 key themes in the play. There are also notes on context for each theme and an exam question for each character and theme.
Students found this really useful to help them revise for the new closed book examinations.

Big Ideas - Macbeth Revision - Differentiated
Two revision resources covering big ideas in Macbeth which allow students to chart how the major themes of the novel develop through the course of the play.
There is a version aimed at grade 9 students which contains perceptive inferences for the key quotations linking.
There is also a version aimed at students working towards grade 4 or 5 with clear and relevant comments on the quotations.
