The differentiated tasks encourage students to
Bronze: Find language features in the quotations
Silver: Match the quotations and context to themes
Gold: Work out the 10 quotations which can be adapted to suit the most themes.
Also includes a planning resource offering 3 levels of differentiation to help guide students on how to structure a full length response on the following 4 themes/topics: children, materialism, ghosts, Christmas.
Tier 1 difficulty (I do): Big idea, topic sentences and quotations are provided. Students add the analysis of the quotations.
Tier 2 difficulty (We do): Students must choose 2 quotations to support each topic sentence and analyse the quotations.
Tier 3 difficulty (You do): Students have to generate the big idea, the topic sentences, 2 quotations a paragraph and the quotation analysis.

Also includes detailed PowerPoints containing analysis of the key quotations in Stave 1 and 2. Students complete a mind map on each Stave with the PowerPoint guiding students through each section.

First ask students to annotate the top 50 quotations in the text and then give out the answer sheet to check their responses.
For weaker students, there is a matching version where students match the 50 quotations to 50 brief explanations.

Sheet 1: A list of key stage directions for each character split into before, during and after the interrogation combined with questions to help students understand the subtle changes in the characters’ behaviour at each stage of the play.
Sheet 2: Differentiated questions linking to A01, A02, A03 based on the opening stage directions.

I have also included a writing frame that I used with a much lower ability class (target grades 4 and 5).
Resources for 2 lessons or 1 lesson and a homework based on music for ensemble (musical theatre).
Students must define terminology associated with musical theatre and then categorise this onto a summary sheet (answers on the pp).
There are also 4 listening questions with answers with you tube links on the pp. 2 of these are based on the longer answers and firstly ask students to make notes on each section (a hint sheet is available) and then put this into continuous prose to be marked according to a SAMS mark scheme.

The planning sheet is more suited to pushing higher-attaining students.
