FRENCH RE VERBS CONDITIONAL PERFECT TENSE

ADVANCED FRENCH CONDITIONAL PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency French RE verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys & verbs lists ideal for***advanced French*** students who are working with more complex language and texts, including a wide range of authentic resources, and developing their knowledge and understanding of tense and mood in French. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language, with the grammar of the language they are learning. Students whose first language is English often look for a direct equivalent of would, similar to when they first meet the conditional tense for example, or they may use***avoir*** instead of être for verbs which require être as the auxiliary. Students do need to to have a good grasp of the auxiliary verbs être and avoir in the conditional tense , as well as the patterns for forming the relevant past participles, in order to ensure that they can form the conditional perfect tense accurately. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key The product is non-editable in a zipped format. INTERMEIDATE FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 HIGH-FREQUENCY FRENCH -RE VERBS My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges, answer key and verb lists. For example, language learners do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in their first language, and the language they are learning, and with students whose first language is English, I frequently see students looking for a word that is the equivalent of would, until they familiarize themselves with the fact that the notion of conditional is indicated in the verb ending. It’s also easy to confuse the simple future tense endings with the conditional tense endings, and targeted practice helps to address that really well. The format is as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Notes and Next Steps, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of French conjugation works, reflect on what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. answer key Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, with a wide range of French language teaching and learning materials, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies too! ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-31 TASK CARDS

BEGINNER ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-31 TASK CARDS really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of Italian numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarise themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling longer words in Italian. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on Italian Numbers 0-31, but also as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how to count in Italian, but also to enjoy working with Italian, and to feel confident about doing so. The questions range in complexity and challenge in terms of language and calculation, though they are designed for advanced beginner Italian language learners, who will generally be more advanced in their math skills. The question card template enables students to apply their knowledge of language and arithmetic creatively and practically too - my students really enjoy putting together questions for each other. All the questions are in Italian, which really helps students develop language awareness skills, use their prior learning to progress current learning, and encouraging them to infer meaning from context. There is ample opportunity for students to lean some Italian mathematical language too, which they don’t necessarily engage with very often. FRENCH CLOTHES FLASHCARDS POSTERS

(0)
PRIMARY FRENCH IMMERSION FRENCH CLOTHES FLASHCARDS POSTERS instant introduction to 20 clothes items in French. The fashcards / posters also give the learning environment a fabulous*** French*** look and feel, promoting French as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of your learners. They also help learners familiarise themselves with both the ‘look’ of French words, and how sounds are represented in the written form. The target language features singular and plural nouns with the indefinite / partitive article, some with colour and adjectival agreement, which is a great opportunity to begin to compare French to other languages learners may speak or know. Looking at language, and the ways it works, either similarly to, or differently from, other languages, helps learners become implicitly aware of linguistic concepts, and how adjectives may change according to gender and number. This is really useful for both current and later learning. It doesn’t matter if some of the items don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in French, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates and near-cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in French. They also help learners begin to work out the meaning of new and unknown words from visual clues or prompts. The 20 nouns are: cap * coat * dress * glasses * gloves * hat * jacket * jeans * jersey / jumper / pullover * scarf * schoolbag / rucksack * shirt * shoes * skirt * sneakers / trainers * socks * sunglasses * T-shirt * tie * trousers There are four poster headers: les vêtements, Qu’est-ce que tu portes ?, Qu’est-ce que tu as ? and Qu-est-ce que c’est ? The labels/answers correspond to the question format. This really does help to promote speaking in the classroom, and I often use the posters for quick speaking refreshers at various points in an individual lesson, or across a series of lessons, really getting the most out of the display. Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. FRENCH SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE

(0)
FSL FLE FRENCH SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE 25 high-frequency verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys, verb lists This ten-page workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practicing and revising how to conjugate French verbs, and it’s a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, but I’ve found that when my students are able to provide the correct conjugation very quickly, and out of a specific context, they feel really confident that their conjugation skills are developing well. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are fixed conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognize and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written French is accurate, and that their understanding of French across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. Students become very familiar and confident the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations certainly help to embed that successfully. LATIN ANIMALS FLASHCARDS POSTERS

LATIN FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER LATIN ANIMALS FLASHCARDS POSTERS These Latin animals flashcards / display posters create a fabulous Latin look and feel in the learning environment. I’ve found that this also helps promote Latin as a real language, featuring in the everyday life of beginner learners of Latin. They introduce learners to a range of animals in Latin from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarise themselves with how Latin words ‘look’, and how they are represented in the written form. My younger Latin students really love the animals flashcards / posters, and when we look for cognates and near-cognates, they really like to compare the Latin and English words. I’ve found that they also help very young children develop their growing understanding of the animal kingdom. Use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. There are 20 masculine, feminine and neuter animals. I’ve chosen a couple of insects and birds, as well as animals that feature in very popular stories, such as ursus and lupus. Looking at language, and the ways it works, either similarly to, or differently from their first language, helps learners become implicitly aware of linguistic concepts in both languages, which I’ve found to be really useful for both current and later learning. The animals are: ***bear : bee : bird : butterfly : cat : dog : fish : fox : frog : horse : kangaroo : monkey : mouse : owl : parrot : rabbit : spider : squirrel : turtle / tortoise : wolf *** There are two sets of 20 9.5x11 (A4) portrait posters: one with a colour background, the second with an animal footprint background, so 40 posters in total. I always laminate my posters / flashcards as they hang a lot better, are easier to manipulate as flashcards, and definitely last for years! FSL FLE FRENCH CONDITIONAL TENSE FOCUSING ON 25 HIGH-FREQUENCY FRENCH VERBS My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges, answer key and verb lists. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. For example, language learners do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in their first language, and the language they are learning, and with students whose first language is English, I frequently see students looking for a word that is the equivalent of would, until they familiarise themselves with the fact that the notion of conditional is indicated in the verb ending. It’s also easy to confuse the simple future tense endings with the conditional tense endings, and targeted practice helps to address that really well. The format is as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Notes and Next Steps, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of French conjugation works, reflect on what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. answer key Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, with a wide range of French language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles and lots of freebies too! ALEVEL FRENCH FUTURE PERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency French verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys & verbs lists ideal for***A Level French*** students who are working with more complex language and texts, including a wide range of authentic resources, and developing their knowledge and understanding of tense and mood in French. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. For example, language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language, with the grammar of the language they are learning. Students with English as a first language for example often look for a direct equivalent of will, similar to when they first meet the future tense, or using***avoir*** instead of***être*** for verbs which require être as the auxiliary. Students do need to to have a good grasp of the auxiliary verbs être and avoir in the future tense as well as the patterns in forming past participles, to ensure that they can form the future perfect tense accurately. LATIN NUMBERS 1-10 WORD SEARCHES

(0)
LATIN FOR CHILDREN BEGINNER LATIN NUMBERS 1-10 10 differentiated word searches with answer keys focusing on Latin Numbers 1-10 ideal for beginner Latin learners of all ages - I’ve found that word searches are the ideal activity for young and beginner students of Latin to engage with the written word in Latin, at the same time developing essential beginner Latin vocabulary. They are easily differentiated - and the grids have an increasing level of challenge, to ensure that all students can feel confident about their learning - and lots of chances to keep challenging themselves. I’ve indicated the direction the words are located in the grid with arrows. The word searches are really versatile, and I use them in lots of different learning contexts, such as starter and refresher activities, fun-time fillers, sub lessons, or free-choice activity at any time during the school year. There are five Latin-Latin grids - the prompt words are in Latin, and the grid words are also in Latin. Each grid is progressively more challenging. There are also five English-Latin grids - the prompt word is in English, and students have to find the Latin equivalent in the grid. On each grid there’s a number list they have to complete too for extra practice. Each grid is on 8.5 x 11 (A4) landscape format - this format has always worked best for my beginner Latin learners.
