Task cards are an ideal language learning activity, perfect for multi-skill language learning: listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use math symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context.
