Children can use the space provided and the handwriting worksheet template to practise both their spelling of the RWI Set 2 and 3 words and their cursive handwriting.
Each sheet contains spaces to practice the phoneme and spaces to copy words with the focus phoneme alongside each word, all in the frame of a handwriting worksheet marked with lines to show the demarcations for sky, grass, ground.
The spelling and handwriting worksheet pack is great to use in handwriting and spelling lessons, as morning starters, and even as homework activities. You might not want them to sit and do all of them at once, the worksheets can be easily split and separated into weekly tasks or as part of a phonics group activity.
It’s also a great way to get the children working on one skill whilst thinking it’s another. Students who need that little bit of extra spelling practise won’t even realise what they’ve been given as you make sure they do their handwriting.
Let me know if there are any others you would like me to add.
Ensure that the children you teach can practise their letter formation with these First 100 High Frequency Words Handwriting Worksheets.
Each of these worksheets features some of the most common words in the English language, making 100 words in total. The words are in alphabetical order.
Each word is written out in cursive script, with the rest of the line being left blank, so students have space to practise writing each word in the same style.
Each line is coloured featuring sky grass and ground guidelines to aid students while they are getting used to the size and shape of the letters, ensuring that they know where ascenders and descenders are placed on the line.
The lines and spacing are an appropriate size for children to begin decreasing the size of their writing.
There’s a blank sheet of lines included for you to print out and add your own words.

I made up some flash cards for my class with the RWI red words using the story colour levels.
I included all the words that are taught in every colour level even the ones that have been taught in previous books. They are colour coded so easy to pick out the ones you need for each ability group. The words are in red and black font.
Each file is an A4 size but if you print 4 pages to a sheet(change the print setting before printing) you can make smaller flash cards that can be used for small group games.
When you print them out 4 pages to a sheet is easier to laminate and cut them out.
I have included all the red words from Red ditty level to grey level books.
Enjoy using them.
