This is a resource I use for students that require Travel Training sessions. In order to develop transferable skills, students are required to plan journeys on public transport. This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Cineworld cinema. You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area! It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey. It also encourages budgeting skills.

This is a 2 page resource to support students understanding of art vocabulary and its description. Students have to match the art vocabulary words to its description.

This resource can be used for students studying English Literature. It is a 5 page worksheet, where students are required to read the excerpts of the HG Wells novel, The War of the Worlds and answer questions about the text. It includes questions, such as: How different was man’s idea of Martians compared to how they actually were? How does H.G. Wells describe the breakdown of social order? How would you feel being amongst the crowd?

This resource can be used for students completing a Film or Media Studies course. It is a 7 page quick quiz task, about sports films based on the sports genre. This resource can be used for students Entry Level 3 and above. This resource is useful to helpful to engage SEN students with an interest in sports; it could even be used as an IT session as an Internet research task, for substitute teaching or as part of Functional Skills English.

A 3 page research task for students completing a Film, Media Studies or P.E. course. The research task is about football/soccer films. Perfect for students SEN Entry Level 3 and above. A helpful resource to engage SEN students that have an interest in sports or football; it could even be used as an IT or EDSQ session as an Internet research task, for substitute teaching or as part of Functional Skills English (sport/film topics).

I use this resource for Media Studies sessions about genres. Students are given pictures of different types of media products that are all sports related and students have to identify the types of media products that they are, such as comic, music single, TV programme etc. This 4 page resource could be used as a session starter or for substitute teaching. It is a good way to include a students interest in sport when teaching Media Studies. Suitable for SEN, Entry Level 3 and above.

I use this 2 page resource for students completing Art courses. After researching potential Art and Design careers, students then create a piece of artwork based on that career. Students then complete the worksheet at the end, stating what career they researched, what artwork they created (with photographic examples), if they found the career interesting and what others they would like to explore. I use this resource at the end of the Art course as a CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information Advice & Guidance) session.

This is a resource I use for SEN students who are completing Art sessions. At the beginning of the year, the students state what their Art EHCP goal is and how they will achieve it in sessions. This resource is then used to review progress and achievement half way through the year and again at the end of the year. (See accompanying Art EHCP goal set up sheet.)

It is a 3 page PowerPoint that I print out and use as an Initial Assessment questionnaire with visuals, which may be useful for students with SEN. It is a good way to gauge what Art activities the students have/haven’t tried before and if there is any they wouldn’t like to do. This is a great way to inform the planning of your Art course and be inclusive to any potential sensory needs for SEN students.

This is a resource I use for students that have completed an Art and Design course. This is an end of course student feedback sheet, so students can feedback how the Art course went and if anything could be improved.

This is a 1 page resource that includes an Art rubric that can be used as a self assessment by students completing an art course. It is easily adaptable to suit whatever art criteria you need. I used it with my students with Autism who were completing Art NOCN (National Open College Network) courses. It is a good way for students to visually see how they are progressing throughout their Art course and what criteria is still left to achieve.

This is a 1 page resource that can be used for students that require support in building social skills, such as students with Autism or Entry Level 1-3. Students can complete a quick 5 question quiz about social scenarios. This could be used a starter task before discussing/role-playing how to be polite in social situations. This resource could be used for students completing a Travel Training course, as students are encouraged to work on their social skills when in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

Example listening skills include: Interrupting as they are talking Looking at the person talking Yawning and telling them how bored you are This resource could be used for students completing a Travel Training course, as students are encouraged to work on their social skills when in the local community; or used as evidence towards the Rarpa, PfA - Preparing for Adulthood target of Friends, Relationships & Community Skills.

This resource can be used for students that require Rarpa (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement); it is linked to the PfA (Preparing for Adulthood) goals/target - Employment Skills. Where students get to choose which employment goal they would like and then state how they can work towards this, either in lessons or in tutorial.
