This resource pack is designed to allow pupils to experiment with writing invitations. They will have to think of the appropriate layout and use images to make the invitation aesthetically pleasing. Pupils will be able to pick from a series of different events to design, make and print their invitations. There is a considerable amount of ICT as a key skill in this activity as they will be choosing the appropriate styles, images and editing their choices.
This activity introduces the class to the idea that shapes can be used to draw pictures of everyday objects. Pupils firstly look at a shape picture and discuss the shapes they can see. They are then able to create their own shape picture using a variety of shapes provided on the screen (eg a house, people, animals). Pupils can then use a fill tool to colour their pictures before printing. Practical activities using the idea of shapes in pictures are suggested for individual or group work.
An interactive whiteboard activity that explores the properties of 3-D shapes, by classifying them according to the number of faces, edges or vertices.

In this unit you will find out about the stages involved in business start up, including the different types of ownership, legal implications, business objectives and stakeholders.
You will develop basic knowledge of marketing, human resources; physical resources and costing a business start up. You will also learn about the importance of monitoring the quality of goods and services. You will also gain skills on financial planning, including start up costs, running costs, cash flow forecasting, break-even, profit and loss, balance sheets, budgeting and variance analysis.
There are a variety of folders consisting of fact sheets and PowerPoints which investigate the legal profession and recent debates concerning the restructuring, training and organisation of that system. These include summaries of reports and reforms as well as detailed analyses of training and progression.
