Help your class become confident reading, recognising and spelling all the Year 2 Common Exception words in this collection of Unjumble Me Quizzes.
The quizzes start by showing the children the words in the set and asking them to have a go at writing the word that is hiding before then showing mixed up letters that spell one of the words. Can the children guess and spell the Common Exception word before the answer is revealed?
Simple repeat after me teaching videos which require the children to listen first when the slide is purple to the phase specific tricky words being read aloud before moving on to copying them when the screen turns green.

A simple set of worksheets to help develop your child’s independent sounding out skills to help the become super spellers. The concept is based around the children using their phoneme fingers, with the children using their fingers to segment a word and then using the simple hand template to write down each phoneme they hear – with one phoneme on each finger.
These worksheets have been designed to be used as a quick fire Phonics Fluency task – focusing on 5 phonemes a week, 1 phoneme a day. The children have 5 words to try and spell independently – perfect for consolidating their prior learning and could be used for early morning work.
There are sets of these worksheets from Phase 3 upwards and accompanying Gimme 5 videos are currently being made and uploaded to my class Youtube channel in case children want to practice these sills at home.
