This IB DP Physics sub-topic material covers all key knowledge needed for a given sub-topic. These materials are aligned to the 2023 syllabus onwards. They are developed by an IB DP Physics teacher who also knew the previous 2016 syllabus as well. While perhaps not the flashiest format, they are consistent and use Microsoft software and PDFs which is readily accessible to almost anyone. They contain Teacher made graphics which show the exact concept to be taught or question to be asked and are all original to The Teaching Astrophysicist. This IB MYP NGSS related unit planner showcases how you can teach using both the IB MYP and the NGSS together. The content for this unit is chemical change and energy with regards to exothermic and endothermic reactions. This unit is aligned with the NGSS as well as the MYP criteria. During this unit students will design / research their own experiments on endothermic or exothermic reactions that they would like to perform. Students will record their work during the experiment, analyse what occurred and why. (Objective B / C). Students will also create a presentation (individually or in small groups at teacher’s discretion) on endothermic / exothermic reactions and how they have impacted on society or in their lives. Particularly with regards to industrial level reactions used in modern manufacturing processes (Objective D). Hydration is not as simple as drinking water and you’ll be fine… actually hydration is essential for maintaining good health and ensuring your body functions properly. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work correctly. From regulating body temperature to removing waste, the importance of water cannot be overstated. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood. With that in mind, let’s use this teaching resource to learn about this critical topic.
