It begins with thorough explanation and practice of basic algebraic techniques, such as solving equations, factorizing and changing the subject of a formula. It then covers linear, quadratic, exponential and trigonometric models. Numerous real-life examples are used to illustrate the techniques with an emphasis on the interpretation of mathematical results. Also covered are the concepts of reduction to linear form using logarithms and inverse functions.
