Two useful handouts for the new Popular Culture and the Witch Craze unit from OCR. The first is a summary diagram of developments in Christian doctrine that had an impact on the witch hunts; the second is a summary of contemporary ideas (of elites) concerning witchcraft. These resources need to be used in conjunction with other handouts and worksheets. This resource is intended to be used as part of a much larger bundle for this unit. See my shop for more details.

A detailed History Handbook that can easily be tweaked to suit your school's Department. Included is information on relevant policies and I have highlighted in red the things that will need to be tweaked/filled in to make this document relevant to your school. This is an extensive document (30 pages, hence the price) that took a long time to put together. I have left in marking grids and SOW that I feel could be useful. I hope this is helpful!

A Level Later Tudors Scheme of Work for OCR. Included is a breakdown of the course into relevant thematic sections, along with learning outcomes and possible activities. The activities/resources mentioned can all be found in my TES shop in the 'Later Tudors' bundle.

A detailed handout covering the AQA GCSE topic, From Tsardom to Communism: 1914-24, along with a corresponding gap fill exercise. This is a great replacement (or supplement) to the AQA text book, that can sometimes be a little daunting for student. It is perfect as a revision aid that can be carried around easily.

Various worksheets and teaching aids for the Western and Kett's Rebellions. Students are introduced to the various demands of the rebels and the thematic causes that sparked each rebellion; they will also examine how serious a threat each rebellion was to the crown. These resources would be useful for any exam board covering the Mid-Tudor Crisis debate.

Various worksheets and revision aids on Edward's religious policies. These resources would be really useful for any student studying the mid-Tudor crisis.

Detailed diagrams explaining Marxism and the various opposition groups that emerged before 1905. Also included are handouts on early opposition to Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II. These resources would be really useful for A Level courses dealing with any period between 1855 and 1905.

A set of 22 revision dominoes for the OCR Russia course, 1894-1941. Can also be used for any course covering the fall of the Tsarist Regime, Lenin and Stalin. Really useful as a starter activity - hand one domino to each pupil and have them read out the date, this should start a chain reaction around the room. My class always want to beat their time! There are lots more dates and events that can be added; however, this is a useful starting point.

Assessment materials for a KS3 assessment on why the Spanish Armada was defeated. The materials include an advice sheet on what to include in the essay, as well as a marking grid that offers both numerical and written feedback. This is intended to be adapted for your marking policy as well as for the ability of the pupils.

Assessment materials on cholera. Can be used as part of a much wider scheme of work on the Industrial Revolution or Public Health. Consists of 3 sources related to the cause of the Cholera epidemic and people's reaction to it. The question can easily be adapted as the sources are quite general. Included is an advice sheet and a marking grid. Also included is an analysis/evaluation template, which can be used in class to introduce the assessment and get minds working.

Source assessment on the murder of Thomas Becket. Quite challenging for Yr 7 pupils, so I would recommend going through one/two sources in class using the Analysis/Evaluation template. Included is the set of 4 sources, a template and a marking grid (that can be adapted to various other assessments). This can be easily differentiated by offering fewer sources or adding more descriptions to the sources.

Various resources to support the teaching of the Gunpowder Plot, including assessment materials on whether the plot was a conspiracy. It usually takes a whole lesson to go through the evidence for both sides of the argument and I get the pupils to write an essay for prep arguing for which side they believe most. This exercise can be differentiated by having less able students outline the main events of the Gunpowder Plot.

KS3 assessment material on Cromwell, including a source sheet, instructions for pupils and a marking grid. Also included is an analysis/evaluation template that is useful to get the class started on the assessment. I usually go through one of the sources in class and fill in the grid in the lesson, then have the group turn it into an essay along with the rest of the sources. Can be differentiated by reducing the number of sources to 3 or by adding more descriptions to the material. Alternatively, for high achievers you could encourage them to find similarities/differences between the sources and add these in to the essay.
