I am currently teaching geography and environmental management at an international school following the British curriculum. KS3 geography resources follows the Oxford geog textbooks. KS4 geography resources follows the Edexcel curriculum although there is crossover into the AQA curriculum too. KS4 environmental management follows the Cambridge curriculum although there is also useful resources which can be used for KS4 geography. All lessons have been used by myself and taught in class.

This work booklet is designed to get students critically thinking about fieldwork design. There is a bigger focus within this booklet towards river and urban investigations but it is relevant for general fieldwork too. Students will look at the difference between qualitative and quantitative data and methods of how to collect each. Students will look at different sampling methods and identify which sampling method has been used in different examples given. Students will then calculate the mean, median, mode and range for examples given. Students will also be introduced to the meaning of anomalies and why they might occur. In addition students will think about risks for two different types of investigation (river and urban) and how they can be overcome. Once students have worked through the technical stuff they will be given investigations with the hypothesis, equipment and methods use. Students will critically analyse the investigations with prompts given to guide students answers.
