I am a primary school teacher with a knack for teaching to the multiple intelligences, particularly the visual learner. My resources are inspired by my experience of teaching different students with unique ways of learning. I love the magic of helping them to make connections in learning. The grades 3-5 are mostly what I cater to, however, I also have some great resources for grades 1 and 2.

Synonyms - Matching Cards for Diverse Learners: Use these Synonym Matching Cards to keep your students engaged in a fun activity that encourages reading and matching. This game is ideal for re-teaching and reinforcement of synonyms. These cards have sixty-two pairs of matching synonyms, which range from second grade words to fourth grade words so you can choose from the set, the cards that you want your students to use. Your advanced students can use the cards with larger and unfamiliar words if they have already mastered the matching of the easier words and are ready to move on to a more challenging match-up.
Some of synonym pairs in this set are:
Level 1 Cards: assist/help, object/thing, begin/start, below/under, close/shut, easy/simple, equal/same, law/rule, silent/quiet, raise/lift, etc.
Level 2 Cards: observe/watch, bother/annoy, buy/purchase, combine/mix, connect/join intelligent/smart, lucky/fortunate, calm/peaceful, rescue/save, unusual/strange, etc.
Level 3 Cards: artificial/man made, accomplish/achieve, inspect/examine, necessary/required, amiable/friendly, gallant/brave, annul/cancel, abandon/forsake, melancholy/sad, previous/former, etc.
The illustrations are there to help visual learners to make connections between the words and their shared meanings. Encourage students to read each card aloud as they match them (to help the auditory learners).

Students often confuse homographs with multiple meaning words. In this booklet, students will engage in games and activities that will allow them to compare words and categorize them correctly as either homographs or multiple meaning words. It includes a set of seventy-two illustrated word cards with definitions, six pull-out graphic organizers which can be used as posters for charts or to create a bulletin board, and a worksheet for both homographs and multi-meaning words which include an answer key for the teacher. 19 Pages.
Use this pack of Illustrated Greek Roots with definitions to keep your students engaged in fun activities that reinforce the definition of each root with examples of words that take on the meaning of the roots that they contain. Instructions are included for two games your students can play with these cards; 'Say It, Keep It' and 'Root Buzz'.
Over two dozen of the most commonly used Greek roots are used in these cards. They are: auto, bio, chron, dyna, gram, graph, hetero, homo, hydr, hypo, logy, meter/metr, micro, mis/miso, mono, morph, nym, phil, phobia, phon, photo/phos, pseudo, psycho, scope, techno, tele, and therm.
These cards are created in two different sizes. The original set has 8 cards per page and the larger set has 2 cards per page. The small set will save you ink and paper but many teachers have indicated to me that they preferred to have a larger set to make a bulletin board display. So, that's why I added the larger version.
A storage box template is also included for these cards.
For Grades 4 & 5. 22 Pages. Aligned to Common Core Standards (CCSS): L.4.4b and L.5.4b
