This is a resource which gives situations that can be used to help pupils with understanding of different ethical theories (applied to these).

This PPT fits great into any scheme of work designed to focus on sources of law. The main focus is UK law and this runs on from my other resource on acts of parliament.

This lesson fits into the scheme of work on ‘Practices that shape and express religious identity’ in the Study of Religion: Christianity (found on the New Edexcel A level Scheme). It uncovers different forms of worship in the denominations of Christianity and is aimed to shed context on the expression of religious identity in Christianity. This is a lesson on homosexuality that was designed for Y11, but can be used for A level. The provocative images on the front are meant to set the scene for the focus of the lesson: Should homosexuality be an ethical issue or not? It is sometimes hard to assess the success of the hedonic calculus. For years my colleagues and I found it hard to get pupils to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the hedonic calculus. The PPT should be worked through, but the main task is the pupils will be given a set of information and will have to work through the reading and highlight important points. They will note these down and teach them to others on the table. The teacher will then go over this at the end to assess learning.
