Component 1: UK Politics - Other electoral systems 10 minute video clip debating this issue on Question Time included. Detailed lesson on single-transferable vote system, supplementary vote and additional member system, their key features, advantages and disadvantages and the results of elections in which these systems are used (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the London mayoral election). Students also look at why we have elections. There is a source based A-level exam question (30 marks) included to assess students’ learning. Numerous activities and case studies to engage students and give a thorough understanding with extension activities and questions for MABLE.
