This is a termly assembly theme plan dated for Term 3 of School Year 2024/25 however the dates can be changed. The termly theme is Personal Identity and Growth with each week having a theme related to this topic or an applicable awareness event e.g. Holocaust Memorial Day. This plan is designed for a Secondary School however could easily be adapted for Primary School. The plan includes a UNICEF Rights Respecting Article of the Week which relates to the weekly theme and a short Bible quotation which also relates to the theme. Each week also sets out awareness events that are applicable. Some guidance is given as to what you might like to focus an assembly on each week as well as some thoughts for the week. This form time tutorial / assembly looks at the festival of Diwali, discussing its significance for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains. The lesson looks at how and why the festival is celebrated including the story or Rama and Sita. This is an easy to follow power point lesson (no prior planning, printing or preparation required). Behaviour / PSHE resource for use in an assembly or form time period on why good behaviour is important.
