These packs of conversation prompt cards and supporting activities were my go-to resource when teaching English as a Foreign Language. They’re awesome for milling activities, providing scaffolding, and building speaking confidence. Not only do they make a great warmer for English, EAL, and ESL classes, but they can also be used to improve follow-up question skills and develop relationships between students and teachers.
The cards feature starter questions, statements, and actions, and are split into eight, color-coded categories. Each category has ‘easier’ prompts (silver star cards) and ‘more difficult’ prompts (gold star cards).
Detailed step-by-step instructions for 5 main activities and 1 extension activity are also provided.
