Pop Star Interview Conversation Activity (3-5 Lessons)

Pop Star Interview Conversation Activity (3-5 Lessons)

(0)
In this series of lessons for English language learners, students roleplay as interviewers and pop stars. Supported by worksheets and role cards, the students perform and record the interview speaking activity. This is followed by a collaborative writing task, peer-supported proof-reading, and a final performance. The main activity is supplemented by three grammar review sessions, focusing on subject-verb agreement, possessive adjectives, and consistent tense use. Suggested extension/ homework activities are also provided. This series of lessons was very successful every time I taught it to ESL / EAL learners. Each segment of the main activity builds upon what has gone before. Vocabulary research and practice precede the role-play, and targetted grammar practice prepares the students for the writing task. The proof-reading and further role-play practice lead into the final presentation. The grammar review sessions feature detailed grammar presentations, group and individual practice activities, and grammar games. I designed a lot of interdependence into the activities and the students collaborated really well and had a lot of fun. All lessons are supported by high-quality, detailed PowerPoints and a step-by-step teacher guide/ lesson plan. Multiple versions of PowerPoints are provided to ensure compatibility with PowerPoint 97 to 2016. PDF alternatives are also included. This pack should cover about 5 lessons (before the extension activities) depending on the speed and English ability of your students. *** The download is in zip format. The .zip contains .pdfs and PowerPoints. You will need a zip extraction program, a .pdf reader, and Microsoft PowerPoint to use this product.
