I have been an Examiner for Cambridge for 8 years and these are my teaching and tactic tips for the 0500 IGCSE CIE English Language Paper 1. Ideal resource for professional development, departmental inset and exam-focused planning.

Included are two old papers which I have doctored to fit the new CIE 0500 English Language exam. They are the Aunt Pegg and Mrs Wilkie papers adapted to the new format. I have also incuded the markschemes for each question. Use these to practice questions 1f, 2d and 3.

This lesson explores gender stereotypes, focusing especially on female stereotypes to focus on International Women’s Day. It can be used for any lesson on gender steretypes of course! There is a starter, then a Nike advert to watch, followed by tasks exploring the use of language and images. Finally, there is a creative advert design task at the end.
