Creative and innovative resources that meet the needs of every learner in every lesson. Why create numerous resources when one can do it all. Most resources are for geography lessons, but many are for whole-school too and cross over into numerous subjects.

Geography science interdependence rainforests GCSE KS3 full lesson animals climate plants food webs

A nice and simple (full) lesson that looks at the interdependence of parts of the rainforest. Students create a foodweb and then apply their knowledge and understanding in a GCSE style question. They then look at the success criteria for successfully writing a great answer. It also provides students with a purple pen paragraph that the class can do together to demonstrate what a good (part) answer looks like.

1-9 gcse geography ks3 india data statistics development industry population energy

A resource that includes all of the key information related to the energy, population, resources and industry in India. I had my pupils create a mindmap about each key heading. Promotes independent work and allows the teacher to support students as they work. I printed this on A3 & in colour & laminated them. This way they can be kept & used for many years.

gcse ks3 geography 1-9 data fieldwork statistics graphs charts presentation fun lesson

A super lesson that explores the ways to present, analyse & explain data. I got students to create a traffic tally on a local road, whilst keeping then in the school grounds. I then did a comparison on the city of Delhi (found a clip on youtube). Students then created a bar graph & then moved on to completing a more complex data presentation. Links well to much of the new 1-9 specification and was used as part of the KS3 SOW.

groupwork self evaluation sheet metacognition reflection group work

(0)
A sheet designed to be used by pupils after a piece of workwork. It allows students to think about the processes that they undertook and how & why their practice could/should be improved in the future. It ties well in to metacognitive thinking in that it allows learners to address the entire learning experience and not simply knowledge. This should help promote even more effective learners at a departmental & whole school level.

fieldwork investigation matrix grid for hypotheses and data collection & evaluation

A matrix that easily allows pupils to complete the evaluation of fieldwork/project data collection and presentation. It outlines the hypotheses used for both human & physical fieldwork tasks and then puts all of the learning into a structured GCSE style Q & A format. Can be used for all GCSE & A Level Geography exam boards (OCR, AQA & Edexcel) Best printed onto A3 & back to back. Worked brilliantly with my classes post fieldwork & as a recap lesson.
