Here is a little introduction to arrays. There are three resources. Part 1 has lots of pictures of real life arrays as well as the traditional arrangement of dots. Each with a frame to write multiplication equations. The part 2 resource has lots of arrays made of clip art style pictures with a frame to write multiplication equations. Part 3 has further explanation of arrays and array work presented in various styles ie. in pictures, dots, etc. There is also a template for children to use to make and draw their own array. Task cards can be given as an activity, as something pupils do if they finish early, as a plenary or can be given as a challenge at the end of an activity.
