The 48 countries represented in this pack are the top 48 countries from the 2012 Summer Olympics medal table. The IOC codes are the International Olympic Committee three-letter abbreviation of the country.
The cards are colour coded and could be used in a number of ways. They could be used as a matching game, pairs, snap and sorting. The activities can be differentiated by not using all the countries or by not using all 4 sets.

Wesak, also spelt Vesak is the most important Buddhist festival and is also known as Buddha Day, or Buddha’s Birthday. It is celebrated annually on the full moon of the ancient lunar month of Vesakha, which usually falls in May, or in early June.
In 2024, Wesak falls on Thursday 23rd May.

This Phonics Screening Check is designed to give practice in phonic decoding skills. It also is an aid for the teacher to see which pupils may be in need of more support. The Phonics screening Check consists of 40 flash cards. 20 of the words are real words and 20 are non – real words. The non – real words provide the purest assessment of phonic decoding because they will be new to the children. The 20 non-real words are identified by a picture prompt of an imaginary creature and the children should be asked to name the creature.
This set of 40 flash cards will help children become familiar with the way the Government Test will be presented in the ‘Year 1 Phonics Screening Test’
There are notes about administering the check and also included are individual record sheets, class record sheets for non-words and real words.
