This resource is a longer response type of A level Product design question, that many students, despite producing paragraphs of text fail to maximise marks the full mark available. This consists of two A3 sheets one is a question sheet and the second contains full marking guidance from the examiner, for the product analysis of the two kettles. This then enables students to complete the question and then ideally peer mark the response. These sheets would be ideal for a stand alone a level question or as cover work.

The manufacture of Iron and steel Home learning resource for GCSE A complete resource for students to complete a home learning task to understand the process of converting iron ore into steel. With a limited time to cover all areas of the specification for GCSE Design and Technology, Product Design or Engineering, it is useful to set some of the required areas for home learning tasks. This resource contains an A3 working sheet and an additional A4 support sheet which highlights the 5 main stages of the production of steel from iron ore. The home learning task is also supported by a Youtube clip which I created to provide additional support for students. You get; A3 working sheet A4 support sheet

An A3 worksheet on the topic of computer game design. This sheet would support a lesson in Design and Technology or Art subject areas. This would make an ideal lesson as part of a computer game design project, or as a standalone or cover lesson. The object of the lesson is to design a monster character for a space themed computer game. The student’s are prompted on the sheet to consider the features of the monster that will make the game more interesting and enjoyable to play. There is also a link on the sheet to possible career paths for game design included in the sheet which could promote classroom discussion or be utilised prior to the end of KS3 options.

A set of seven A4 sheets that cover industrial production, lean manufacturing, and just in time manufacturing. These comprise a mix of exam type questions and scaffolding for note taking. I created these to work with the clips on my Youtube channel. This resource can be used in a Product design lesson in the classroom. Alternatively they could be set as home learning to consolidate the knowledge by providing the students with sheets and embedding the clips from Youtube into a Google classroom.

The sheet is A3 size and can be copied onto white card, this gives a good size to actually hold a mini pizza. We have used this in a multi part food lesson in which students can design and make a package and a food product. The sheet gives details of the relevant food packaging information requirements. **Sustainability and the Six R’s for KS3 ** Two worksheets and a lesson starter activity for a single KS3 lesson that covers Sustanable design ansnd the six R’s. These worksheets can be used together with Clips on my Youtube channel . There is a clip explaining the two toothbrushes and also a more general clip expilaining the six R’s. I would suggest starting the lesson off with the Six R’s cilp and completing the starter activity. Then watch the toothbrush comparison and complete the worksheet.

Here is a home learning task for students to complete to consolidate their understanding of the process of the conversion of timber. A set of questions on an A3 sheet based around wood processes, the sheet contains two drawing type questions as these are common in most of the GCSE specifications. this sheet could be used as a lesson covering GCSE D&T generally or as part of a revision study lesson. Composite Materails GCSE D&T Question and Walkthrough A GCSE Design and Technology questions on Composite materials, complete with Youtube walkthrough . A4 GCSE type questions and an A5 learning check to use in a subsequent lesson. This is supported by a short walkthrough clip on my Youtube Channel. This would also be of some use for A level product design students.

A home learning resource for GCSE D&T involving a brands investigation. This is a major home learning task that covers brands , typically this could be set over a half term as a longer home learning task. This then covers this area which is a GCSE requirement in all GCSE D&T specifications. Included is an A3 worksheet and a copy of an exemplar completed task. This resource contains everything that you need to deliver a lesson on longer form D&T questions. This question is about standard forms of materials. This would make a great resource for GCSE D&T or Engineering revision sessions. I usually use two lessons on this set of resources, the first lesson to cover subject knowledge and the second lesson to tackle the long form exam question, this includes peer marking using the supplied mark scheme. A level Product Design Modeling and Prototyping Exam Type questions These sheets is about modeling and prototyping. This resource consists of three A3 sheets , with two exam type questions and two sheets of very comprehensive mark schemes which relate to the two questions. These are exam type questions that relate to designers and how they communicate their ideas to stakeholders such as clients. Although the two questions on this sheet paper similar at first glance they both require completely different answers. students can answer questions and use the mark schemes to mark and amend their answers.

This is two A level Product design questions, featuring questions around the subject of Bio-polymers, the topical subject has appeared more frequently recently. This consists of thee A3 sheets one is a question sheet with two longer format questions and the other two sheets contain full marking guidance and tips from the examiner. This then enables students to complete the questions and then ideally peer mark the response. These sheets would be ideal for a stand alone A level question or as revision work.

These are a set of sheets which give detailed instructions and coloured parts which allow students to manufacture a range of battle damaged Warhammer 40K buildings in a few simple stages. This resource comprises three A3 paper building templates and an A4 sheet of propaganda posters. These sheets are supported buy a step by step guide to construction which is available to watch on my YouTube channel. I created these to use with a KS3 Warhammer club but they could be used as a standalone D&T Graphics project perhaps for KS3, there are three building parts to make all of which can be combined to make a 40K cityscape. Three A3 sheets that covers most aspects of plastics for GCSE Design and Technology. These would also be suitable for GCSE engineering or product design students. These sheets comprise mostly of GCSE style questions and are supported by dedicated clips on my YouTube channel “Mr Ridley’s Design and Technology”. These may also be useful for A level product design students to enable them to revisit the subject of plastics. These sheets would also be useful if you wished to compile your own bespoke exam paper for these subject areas.
