A quick last min power point to help you revise C2 Chemistry calculations

This is an idea for an activity that I have used with my Y11 students to revise with. Basically you need to build a labyrinth for students to work their way through with revision questions and activities as they make their way round it. As students try and get through you can intercept them with goblins and make them answer 6 mark questions. Most of the activities and questions are included in the power point and there are lots of question cards on TES that you can use. This probably isn't the best description but as we're all revising at the moment I hope it helps spice things up. Thanks for looking

It's pretty straight forward, I remember loving playing battle ships and got inspired. It was one of the greatest moments of my teaching carrier seeing a class of Y11s playing battle ships. How it works is almost self explanatory. Fill the information section in with what ever you want and then fill out the question grid with questions on the information. This is an activity that I have used with my Y11 students during their revision. It can be used in a number of ways. The general instructions of how to use it are: 1. Print off the power point slides (2 to a page works well) 2. Set up some tables and outline the shape of the periodic table 3. Put on the labels for the groups and the periods in the correct places 4. Write on a few elements 5. Give each student an element card which gives them a range of things they need to work out about the element as a starter 6. Ask the students to place their element where they think it should be 7. Use the question cards as a basis for a discussion about the periodic table (there are around 25 question cards so most students will be asked at least one thing. There is lots in the power point and it can easily be differentiated Thanks for looking

This has been something that I've tried with my Y11 students with some success. It is designed to give students something small to do every day. By providing an example for each piece students will see what they need to and you can confidently say that each piece only takes 15 mins or less. This is an activity which you can either use as a starter or as part of a revision lesson. Each pair of students will set up the sheets and then take it in turns to play battleships, answering questions on giant ionic bonding as they go.
