Maths Vegas - Year 9 High Attainment

From my collection of Maths Vegas games I have made over the past few years. I have found these to be a tremendous method of engaging the pupils in revision lessons. The pupils really look forward to these lessons and see them as a treat. A great way to trick them into learning and completing good collaborative work. See some FREE examples: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/maths-vegas-revision-game-samples-11188999 This activity is aimed at high-set Year 9. Instructions: Print off some money (Google) or buy some Monopoly money (eBay) to use. Arrange pupils in groups and give each group £50. Pupils bet between £1-20 on each topic (before seeing the question) - I find the best way is to instruct the pupils to place their bets on separate whiteboards at the front. Pupils will double their money with a correct answer or lose it for a wrong answer. Variations: - Pupils can bet as much as they like on the last question. - Pupils can play a 'joker' once so their bet in tripled.
