The Physical Education Excel Data Worksheet packet is an editable Excel Document that can be used to enter skill/movement-based data based on physical education rubrics set by an individual PE teacher, school, district or PE curriculum program.
Most PE rubrics today use a 3 or 4 point value system based on observed elements of a movement, skill, behavior or action. The Physical Education Excel Data Worksheet gives teachers the ability to enter these points and have them “averaged” automatically for easy grading purposes at the end of a unit or grading period. Student names can also be imported or copy/pasted from any other Excel files a teacher may have.
The Physical Education Excel Data Worksheet was also designed to work with Cap’n Pete’s Power PE Assessment Series which has a 4 point scale rubric (PE Skill Outcome Scoring Rubric) that is included with each of the 24 Skill Assessment Sheets. The scores from the assessment sheets and subsequent rubric can be input in the excel worksheets.
Included in this Excel Data Worksheet Packet is the following files:
1. Blank Excel Version- Fill in the blanks with your student names and data- This version has 6 tabs at the bottom for 6 classes. Teachers can add or subtract from that number of classes by right clicking the bottom tabs and editing.
2. Example Excel Version- Depicts 3 mock classes with tabs for 1- Locomotor Movement, 2- Manipulative Skills and 3- Other PE Skills. These can be edited too by a teacher by deleting the preset information and adding their own.
3. PE Skill Outcome Scoring Rubric and Example Assessment Series Sheet- Shows an example, 4 point scoring rubric that goes along with Cap'n Pete's Assessment Series Sheets and fits well into the Excel Data Worksheets.

ALIGN COMMON CORE MATH STANDARDS IN PE
Inside this packet are two Curriculum Connection Signs/Posters for integrating math into physical education. The 2 posters (Kdg. to 2nd and 3rd to 5th) identify 2 Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice for each grade level and provide basic examples of how we can align to the CC math standards with simple PE activities in our daily lessons. The stated PE math applications are simple to do and in most cases we as physical educators, are already incorporating these activities.
These signs or posters can be posted in your gyms or hallways leading to your gym entry door and can be displayed for all to see as a testament to how we can integrate academic subject standards into the curriculum we teach. Many of the Math integration activity examples can be easily fused into the fitness and skill-based activities that you are already teaching. By starting a count at a higher number or converting measurement from inches to centimeters you are hitting Common Core Curriculum Math standards that will assist the homeroom teacher during their daily math lessons. What we do in the gym is “real” and can be considered math with real-life application for our students. It is a “Win-Win-Win” for us, the classroom teachers and of course our students. Administrators and parents will love to read these signs/posters and they will automatically bring up a positive conversation.
These PE printables come in both a PDF and JPEG format and automatically print on a 8 ½ by 11 inch sheet of standard copy paper but can easily be “blown up” into a large sign or a poster size document (with a school or store poster maker) for all to see. Print, laminate, post and keep for years to come.
The following student workout plan incorporates exercises and movements from the 3 main components of physical fitness: 1. cardiovascular/aerobic endurance, 2. muscular strength and endurance and 3. flexibility. The plan combines the 3 areas of physical fitness but allows for flexibility in how the students’ determine the duration of each component and the mode in which they exercise. The beauty of this Student Workout Plan is that the students can use it over and over again but have completely different workouts each time they use it. This plan is concise and can be copied on 2 sides making it a 1 sheet design. It incorporates a visual component to help with the students’ recall and it has “check off” buttons and “fill in” areas for cardio workout duration, and resistance sets and repetitions.
There are 2 forms of the plan: 1) A plan that is intended for a gym with only free weights and 2) A plan that is intended for a gym with resistance machines such as “Nautilus”.
