A 2 page word document worksheet which is based around school vocab and some adjectives linked with school. Students will need to revise adjective agreements to complete the adjective cloze test. Could be used as a class task, homework or as an exam.

Two worksheets based on ‘La Météo’- The French Weather Forecast. Each worksheet has a map of France and a simple weather forecast. Students work in pairs to read the description written on their page to their partner. Their partner must listen carefully and draw weather symbols/temperatures etc on the weather map on their own page. Then swap roles. This activity allows the students to practice their oral skills as well as their listening skills. It also allows them to practice key weather phrases and compass points in French. 30 Images of food items with matching words presented in a PPT. I print and laminate each slide (6 slides per page) and use the pieces as a form of AFL. Students are given all of the pieces and need to match the word with the correct picture. Can make as many sets as you like and students can work individually, in pairs or in small groups. Could also be used for an 'I have, who has' activity. Of course, this can also be used to present the vocab.

PowerPoint presenting the prepositions in French using 'Pierre, la petite souris'. Second PPT to be used as a class activity to recap or to assess.

A hand out which explains when and how to use personal pronouns, direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns. A 2 page word document. Could be used a lesson starter or as a revision hand out. No exercises attached so this would need to be supplemented.

A 2 page word document which summarizes 'Rocks'. Explains the formation of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rocks, giving 2 examples of each. Also discusses the uses of rocks. Good resource to hand out if revising the topic. Could also be used in initial teaching.

A two page word document explaining how to form the ‘futur proche’. Includes key vocab, examples, gap fill exercise and translation exercise. Suitable for students of all ages and stages.

A 3 page revision hand out on the water cycle, clouds and rainfall. Well laid out in grids and so, easy to follow. Includes key terms, essential diagrams and a sample answer on relief rainfall. A gapfill exercise on the subject of TikTok and it’s popularity. Once gapfill is completed, students can use the text as a comprehension and answer the comprehension questions in English. This is followed by a grammar exercise where students must find different types of words in the text. Once complete and corrected, the text can be used as notes for opinon pieces on technology/social media.

A full lesson on the housing crisis - mentions Ireland in the piece, but can easily be adapted to suit your location. Has a list of key words/verbs/expressions that students must translate and classify (noun/verb/adjective etc…) and a gapfill exercise in response to an opinion-style question on the housing crisis. Once completed and corrected, this can serve as a sample answer for students.

A gap-fill exercise on the status of Irish/Irish as a compulsory subject. Will serve as a notes handout for an opinion question on this topic when completed and corrected. Aimed at Higher Level Leaving Cert students.

A 16 slide PPT on the Euros 2020 (2021) in French. Includes some simple geography based activities (match the flag to the country/name the European country) and some vocab activities (translating key football vocab and categorising vocab). Also includes a diary entry question. A good ‘back to school’ activity for a strong 3rd year class, TYs or 5th years.

A word doc which discusses the Irish school system. Introduces key vocab and then has a sample answer on an opinion question on the Irish Education System. Includes useful ‘production écrite’ phrases - highlighted in green.

Discusses the factors which attract industry to a location, light and heavy industries (using Irish case studies), inputs, processes & outputs of industry, footloose industries, industrial inertia using the British Iron and Steel industry as a case study, industrialized -v- industrializing countries and how industry impacts the environment. A short PowerPoint presentation which introduces adjectives and how to make them feminine/plural. Also attached is list of useful/important adjectives for beginner French students. I use this with my 1st years (ages 12 and 13). Lists the masculine and feminine version of the adjective and has a column in which to write the English translation. Worksheet to accompany the list of adjectives is for pair work/peer correction. Students must translate the descriptive paragraphs and their partner corrects. Last past of the worksheet asks students to write a paragraph about themselves using the samples as a guide.
