Each time you open the files (or select a different cell within the file) the numbers will change to give you a completely new test. The test also copies itself to give you 6 copies of the same test on each A4 sheet.

The substitution exercise could be done in a lesson prior to the Quadratic Formula lesson to encourage students to think about the possible difficulties that arise when using the formula. The PPT leads you through when and why we use the formula but textbook references will need changing. Then the matching activity links nicely back to the PPT getting students to identify when they need the formula. Multiple copies per sheet to minimise photocopying.

Students are required to find mean, median, mode and range both from lists of data and from frequency tables. The last questions students need to think about and justify why a mean, median and range cannot be found. There are 3 per page to minimise photocopying.

This is a fun way of consolidating adding & subtracting negative numbers. A board game for 2-3 players, it’s a great way to get the students engaged and developing those wider communication skills as they get talking or debating about why their answers are right or wrong.
